Noroccidental in the expansion of UNACEM plant

Proyecto de ampliación de planta industrial UNACEM con montajes y transporte especializado
Lifting and transport engineering applied to Ecuador's industrial expansion.
Noroccidental - TNO actively participated in the expansion of kiln No. 2 production capacity at UNACEM plant, one of the country's most important industrial projects.
Thanks to our specialized technical personnel and a fleet of state-of-the-art equipment, we contributed to increasing the plant's production capacity to 1,900 tons per day, strengthening the national cement industry.
A large-scale project
The plant expansion required simultaneous demolition, construction, and industrial assembly operations, executed with high standards of safety and precision.
For this, TNO deployed a set of telescopic cranes and self-propelled modular equipment, enabling complex maneuvers in confined industrial spaces and at heights exceeding 110 meters.
Featured equipment used included:
  • Cranes of 60, 90, 100, 250, 350, and 500 tons.
  • Hydraulic platforms and jacking systems for structure positioning.
  • Self-propelled modular transport (SPMTs) for internal mobilization of heavy components.
Applied lifting engineering
Each maneuver was supported by a team of TNO lifting and transport engineers, responsible for developing lifting plans and technical studies required to ensure structural safety of components and project continuity.
The operation was executed under certified industrial safety protocols, load securing, and coordination of simultaneous work, integrating engineering planning with the field experience of our technicians.
Coordination and technical excellence
The project's success was made possible by precise coordination between our transport, assembly, and technical supervision teams, who worked together with civil work contractors and UNACEM engineering teams. This synergy enabled meeting established deadlines, reducing downtime, and ensuring structural stability during the lifting process.
Committed to the country's industrial development
At Noroccidental – TNO, we are proud to contribute to the expansion of Ecuador's industrial infrastructure.
This project reaffirms our leadership as specialists in heavy-tonnage transport and lifting, applying comprehensive solutions in sectors such as cement, mining, energy, and oil and gas.
