Noroccidental in Infrastructure: Integrated Connectivity over the Upano River

Proyecto de infraestructura y conectividad integral sobre río Upano con transporte fluvial
A bridge connecting regions through engineering and precision
At Noroccidental – TNO, we proudly took on the logistics and technical challenge of the Integrated Connectivity Project over the Upano River, an emblematic work connecting the cities of Macas and Puyo, strengthening the road network of eastern Ecuador and generating a direct impact on regional integration.
Our highly qualified technical team, combined with the country's highest-capacity cranes, enabled us to execute each task with precision and responsibility, ensuring the success of an operation that represents a key advancement for national infrastructure.
Mobilization and installation of a 400-ton superstructure
The project consisted of the mobilization and installation of a 100-meter-long, 400-ton metallic superstructure, intended to form the new bridge over the Upano River.
For its transport, high-capacity crawler lifting equipment was used, ensuring the stability and safety of the assembly during each phase of transport and positioning.
Tandem Lift: millimetric precision in every maneuver
The main installation maneuver was executed through a Tandem Lift, a technique requiring perfect synchronization between two cranes operating simultaneously.
In this case, TNO deployed crawler cranes with capacities of 300 and 600 tons, working in coordination to lift the structure to its final position, achieving controlled structural balance at all times.
This type of operation requires precise engineering calculations, constant communication between operators and supervisors, and the application of lifting plans, ensuring that each movement is executed within established safety margins.
Engineering, experience, and commitment
Behind every maneuver is a team committed to excellence. TNO's transport and lifting engineers designed the technical procedures, load studies, turning radii, and structural simulations to ensure flawless execution, even in the demanding climatic and geographical conditions of eastern Ecuador.
Connecting Ecuador, building the future
The Bridge over the Upano River represents not only an infrastructure work but also a symbol of connectivity, progress, and sustainable development. At Noroccidental – TNO, we reaffirm our commitment to the country: providing engineering, machinery, and human talent for projects that transform territories and improve people's lives.
TNO, your strategic partner in great challenges. Building the future.
